I saw an optical illusion when I was drugged up from my root canal.

1. A situation where one realizes that they do not know themselves as well as they think, shattering their grip on reality.

2. A horrible, failed attempt at saying something profound.

When someone is supposed to be writing something and isn't, yet leaves one tab open in his/her browser that relates to what he's supposed to be doing, making it appear as if the person is actually doing something. I'm doing it right now
Person 1: Isn't John supposed to be writing a cross-analysis on the early philosophers? Why are all these facebook and youtube pages open?

Person 2: But look, his current tab is a Wikipedia entry on Plato

Person: Wow, I can't believe you fell for the tab illusion

The outward appearance of exercise by someone using a certain piece of gym equipment while, in reality, that person has failed to achieve more than a resting heart rate because of a preoccupation with talking on the telephone, sending text messages, or reading.
Mary's hour-long workout on that machine in the gym was just an elliptical illusion; she talked on the phone the whole time and didn't break a sweat.

An illusion yoga pants created causing a flat booty-ed person's back side to appear more curvy and voluptuous than it would in normal attire.

note: lululemon is an athletic brand that specializes in yoga pants
Chet: Dayum I didn't realize Sara had such an ass on her!
Chad: Nah man! It's a lululemon-illusion! That girl's ass is flatter than a pancake.

Dude #1: Dude. This thing looks like it's spinning
Dude #2: Dude. It fucking is
Me : No, it's just some circles... what a gay optical illusion
Me : Wait, pass the joint

The ninth studio album by the American thrash metal band and death metal pioneer Slayer. The album was released on August 8, 2006. This is the first album to have Dave Lombardo's drumming skills in since 1990's 'Seasons in the Abyss', and he is more than welcomed back into the Slayer crew. It's a definite improvement from Slayers work over the last 15 years. Lyrical themes explored on Christ Illusion deal with terrorism, warfare and religion, not exactly new to the Slayer style. Doesn't grasp the feeling 'Reigning Blood' or 'Seasons in the Abyss' had, but it comes fairly damn close. A definite must must for Slayer fans of all kinds.
Person 1: It seems like a lot of '80's thrash bands are making great albums over the passed 3 or 4 years.

Person 2: Like who? And what albums?

Person 1: Megadeth with United Abominations, Metallica with Death Magnetic, and Slayer with Christ Illusion.

Person 2: Thanks, I'll probably check those albums out!
