BRA'' is a dimunitive in that it is the shortened version of the Welsh word BRAWD, which translated into English means
Brother. The term may be considered vulgar by some or common parlance by others, & is used both as a term of endearment or ironically as a nod to ones own meagre roots. Can only be used when referring to an individual.....if a group of
people are referred to as BRAS by a person, it's most likely that the person is not local to Cardiff and probably being from the South
Wales Valleys.....where they refer to each other as butt or butty.........different story......
