Horseshoe vortex

The horseshoe vortex system is a simple vortex model for an aircraft or lifting body which fits a box-shaped vortex system out from the wing. This is made up of the wing vortex, trailing vortices (see trailing vortex) and starting vortex. The latter is a vortex formed due to changes in the vorticity of the wing vortex, i.e due to changes in airspeed.

A steep general decline in prices, often caused by a reduction in the money supply or credit, that creates economic recession or depression, which in turn results in greater deflation. A vicious circle, where the problem is its own cause.

A Deflationary Vortex occured in Japan during the 1990's, brought about by decreases in price that lead to lower production, which in turn lead to lower wages and demand, which lead to further decreases in price

Polar Vortex

A new weather phenomenon, where arctic weather gets pushed towards more southbound regions of planet Earth, and the arctic regions get much milder weather.

Scientists haven't been able to give the public a probable cause for it, so people speculate it has something to do with climate engineering, or green house gasses screwing up the upper atmosphere.

Vortex Chug

(an Australian slang term, used by young men in Northern Queensland) The act of spinning a bottled beverage to create a "vortex" inside the bottle, and, while maintaining a fast spin on said bottle, inverting it into ones mouth, promptly draining the beverage at near warp speed.

this method is used if you need to down a lot of a specific liquid in a very short amount of time

The long known character of Vortex from “The Transformers” is often remembered for his liking of mayonnaise, his popular catchphrase heard often in his own long forgotten spinoff series “Vortex of Cybertron”, was “mAyOnNaIsE!!!”. This addictions sprang a term where transformers fans would refer to mayonnaise fans as “Vortex Boys”.
