(Adj) something that is both heavy, bulky, and soft (often squishy) that is desired for its quality.

(Onom) the sound of a bulky, soft object falling to the ground.

Etymology: Plom (Lead, Catalan) + -f (from 'Kalf', Calf, Dutch).

Dutch farmers often used calf fur to create clothing due to its soft qualities. Catalan settlers migrated to the Netherlands and combined the material Lead, known for its weight, to create more durable clasps and buttons for the clothing.
