When a fat pet or person has trouble jumping or climbing onto a couch or bed & their pudgy legs kick a lot in desperation, it can be said that that pet or person is "river horsing" as they resemble a swimming hippopotamus.

It's the art of going to any social activity (particulary a nightclub, bar, gathering, rave etc.) involving one person expending a great amount of money for company.
Example: I'm going Holting tonight with this girl. (Meaning that tonight its going to spending money for this girl's company.)

It is also when a person who wants to spend time by himself to do activities that he likes to share but prefered to do them on his own.
