fauxtention

"faux" + "attention": pretending to pay attention in class; an offensive tactic during lecture classes when you are using your laptop. Fauxtention involves giving knowing and "interested" nods to your professor to show you're paying attention. But what you're really doing is preempting any suspicion that you are surfing the internet as much as you really are.
Fauxtention earns brownie points.

fauxto

Picture of the digital variety taken and modified by Photoshop or other method to increase it's shock and propaganda value. Used especially well by contributors to the NYTimes, Reuters and other left wing newspapers who have a diffiult time fact checking. That is, unless it is a subject that could damage the United States.
In recent weeks, bloggers such as Michelle Malkin, LGF and others have debunked numerous fauxtos taken in Lebanon. Especially amusing was the altered smoke pic that a 4th grader could have altered more convincingly.

fauxternal

When twins say they're fraternal but you still can't tell them apart.
Micah and JT are adults now and for as long as I've known my nephews, I still struggle to tell them apart. They say they're fraternal but I saw they're fauxternal.

fauxtography

Fraudulent photography. News images that have been faked by various means, generally to promote an ideological agenda or to manipulate the emotions of the viewer. (Derived from a combination of the French term faux meaning “false,” and “-tography,” the second half of the word “photography.”)

The word was first used to describe the doctoring of photographs by Reuters photographer Adnan Hajj during the Lebanon War of 2006, and has since been generalized to mean any dishonest or faked news photo.

Methods for creating “fauxtographs” include: using Photoshop (or similar software) to digitally alter the photo; photographing staged scenes or simulated news events and presenting them as real; interfering with or manipulating photo subjects to creat a “more effective” picture; adding inaccurate and/or misleading captions.
"Since (in their world view) the ends justify the means, terrorist leaders, and their willing accomplices in the moonstream media, have employed fauxtography to deceive tens of millions of illiterate Muslims into believing faked atrocities. Many educated Muslims have been duped as well."

Fauxtempt

To pretend to genuinely offer help or assistance, when you know you really don't want to. This is done with the hope that whoever you're "trying" to help out will ultimately decline your offer. In your mind, there is no chance it is going to happen. A successfully executed fauxtempt gets you out of work/assistance while making you look good. A poorly delivered fauxtempt just makes you look like a dbag.
"After dinner, John said he'd get up to wash the dishes but was easily convinced that he didn't have to. John's fauxtempt was successful."

On the flip side...

"Yea my buddy offered to help me move but as soon as I said he didn't have to, he jumped at the opportunity to rescind his offer. Nice fauxtempt, dbag."
