Copypasta is a term used when one copy & pastes a sort of chain message. Copypasta has been around since the early days of the internet, but today takes a couple of basic forms; The first being the "Make this a meme" copypasta Bob & Memedog, to name a couple. The second is the "Repost or die in your sleep" copypastas, which spread around like wildfire & can be harmful, as younger users are likely to fall for it, repeating the cycle.

*Merzbow copypasta* (also known as "copypasta-core", "merzbow, boredoms" or "THAT copypasta") is a list of obscure, underground, outsider, avant-garde, cult and experimental music artists that began circulating in online circles dedicated to music discourse in the mid-to-late 2010s, the earliest variant of the copypasta can be found on the infamous online imageboard 4chan particularly on /mu/ - it does not include the "Nice I like" part at the beginning, which was added later on as a second layer to the joke, as the copypasta would usually be shared when someone (typically a normie) shared the music taste, only to be bombarded with a wall of "literally who" artists, that most normal people have never heard of.
