A childhood affliction that is totally misunderstood by most children and adolescents. It is commonly thought that one does not want to acquire said affliction from members of the opposite sex, since boy cooties and girl cooties are not only incompatible but highly infectious. Surprisingly, it is typically found that the first individual in a social group to acquire cooties and survive will become legendary and one to be emulated.
