This is usually associated with rapid, off target tangents referring to the speakers past, usually involving repeated allusions to time spent at a penitentiary, farm, or personal security business. It can also be loosely used to define a response to a question that in no way answers the question.

26-episode anime and ongoing manga about a boy in Japan (Koyuki) trying to make it big with his rock band. Follows the band's ups and downs and Koyuki's gradual rise to maturity as the series progresses. A unique and fairly well down series that makes numerous references to real world music and also has an amazing original soundtrack.
