In early 2020 the founder of AWAP, AWAP Mad Tomb, uttered the words 'amnesia wrap' moments later this was abbreviated into a four-letter format and AWAP was born.

AWAP Is the clan tag for Smite pro league team: Amnesia Wrap. It has many members and a growing roster.

The abbreviation is commonly used to refer to members of the team as well as the team itself.

AWAP strongly deny all racist allegations made against them, releasing the following statement:
