A shorthand term for the events of September 11th, 2001, generally used in a lighthearted euphemistic fashion. "The Big Niner" is a common formulation to refer to this.

"Have you seen the Nat Geo documentary 'One Day in America?'"
"Of course, it's one of the most comprehensive films on The Big Niner ever made."
