1. A more specific derivative of nerd sniping, where a troll credits / refers to some content that contains incorrect environmental claims designed to to elicit a response that occupies the respondents or otherwise takes them offline.
That copium article post you posted in the collapse forum was excellent green sniping! In the two hours it took to debunk all its claims, attention had moved elsewhere and no one followed up.
