Okay, as a cheerleader of 10 years, and my friend being a cheerleader for 11 years it IS a sport! Every other sport you have a back up, in cheerleading if you hurt yourself in warm up's or someone dosn't show, you don't have a back up, or a second string. To be a cheerleader you have to be able to dance, cheer, jump, stunt, tumble, in front of almost 100 people or more everytime you cheer. You are being judged on every move you make. They don't know how many hours, tears, and heart you put into it. You mess up one time, and it's noticed and they remember it, but if you do it right, chances are they wont. Cheerleading is a way of life, shared by a chosen few,
It is working as a unit in everything you do.
Cheerleading is rivalry, the competition makes you strong,
It is sharing secrets and tears, learning to get along.
Cheerleading is that ongoing drive to be the very best,
It is patience, perseverance, and very little rest.
Cheerleading is having poise and charm with every word you say,
It is total dedication twenty-four hours a day.
It is always being ready with encouragement or a smile,
Cheerleading is your chance to express your individual style.
Cheerleading is reaching out to comfort a sister who is sad,
It is defending each other in the good times and the bad.
Cheerleaders are always there whenever someone asks,
They treasure the present moment and let go of the past.
Cheerleading is a talent to be able to shine on cue,
It is hiding the pain and anguish that if only people knew.
Cheerleaders after all, are real people that sometimes get down,
but when they're in the spotlight, they must never put on a frown.
Cheerleaders are actresses, always ready to go,
That is why it is important for all the world to know;
Not every girl can be a cheerleader, it takes a special kind.
Cheerleaders are full of life and a little bit out of their minds.
They know how to have fun and not afriad to make fools of themself's will doing it.
They get up early in the morning to go to a game,match,or a compatation.
They put on their shoes,uniform,and curl their hair.
They don't only cheer in groups.
They arnt all stuck up girls,who tell you what to wear.
Get to know a real one,before you go and judge us all, because hunny lets face it, why would anyone want to date a girl that looks like man when they play the sport, and ater when they can have a cheerleader, who looks like a girl when they play their sport, and have a girl body, that's nicer than most?

To them everyday is cheerleading day, and it's not just a hobby it's a way of life. Cheerleading captains can either be smart academic wise or just a plain dumb slut. The area you reside in determines how trashy, slutty, smart, or determined these girls are. They rule with an iron fist during pratices in gym, and if you don't follow their lead they were surely make your life a living hell by either spreading false rumors about you ("OMG Becky is such a slut. She gave it hard to Mitch on the football team.") or ignoring your ass to the point of insanity.
Come on now cheerleading captains, be reasonable. What can you do with your life if all you do is cheerlead and talk shit?
