The country is also known for
soap operas, dramas (rather cheesy)
ex. Winter Sonata
and pop music groups (called K-pop)
ex. Boa, SNSD
Food is quite popular between foreigners.
Things like Kimchee, Kimbap, and the Korean barbecue are famous.
A lot foods use garlic and red chili.
Korean Parents are very into education.
Education means everything,
good education would guarantee good jobs.
Attending to university is a free pass to get away from joining the army.
Many koreans study outside of the country like the US and Canada to learn English.
Also, many Koreans hate Japan from the annexation.
Many think the Japanese government denies to apologize for what Japan did during the annexation period, when the Japanese government has multiple times. (Last one was Aug,15,2010 )
There is also collisions between the two countries with Dokdo/Takeshima island.
(Well, i guess its normal for neighboring countries to not get along. Happens all over the world.)

An animated show featured mainly on Comedy Central about the lives of four 10 year olds-Cartman, a fat, rascist asshole, Kyle, a Jewish kid who usually doesn't follow fads and is ridiculed for it, Stan, similar to Kyle, but more likely to follow along with the crowd, and Kenny, the most perverted of the four, who is famous for dying in every episode for the first five seasons. The show mocks the stupider aspects of society with no mercy, and rarely depicts celebrities or politicians in a respectable manner. For intance, Paris Hilton coughed up semen, insulted people needlessly, demanded ownership of Butters Stotch (as a pet), and had sex with a pineapple before being shoved up Mr. Slave's ass. While some episodes are semi-realistic, most are downright fucked-up in the most awesome way possible, a prime example being the scene where the boys are running through a drug dealer's strip club make guns with their hands and yelling "bangbang bang"...while being shot at, with a stripper wandering around going "Dance? Anyone want a dance?" Now quit reading this definition and buy the fucking movie.

Get the South Park mug.One of the best shows on TV. First broadcasted in 1997. Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The show has 4 main characters. Stan Marsh, Kyle Brofloski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McKormick. They are four eight-year-old boys that live in South Park Colorado. Stan, is often considered the main character. He is really a typical American boy and does things and is in situations that many people can relate to. Kyle is Stan's best friend and is the only Jewish boy in South Park. Eric (usually called Cartman) could also be considered the main character. He is the racist one of the group that has a weight problem and is possibly psychopathic. Kenny is the character that usually dies in every episode and is the poor one of the group. He wears a hooded coat, which prevents you from ever seeing his face. The show usually makes fun of controversial events, politics, famous people, fads, and everyday life. There are currently more than one-hundred episodes, and two movies.
