"Napkin math" is the act of performing estimates (usually of a financial nature) to roughly determine the feasibility or validity of an outcome or fact. It is usually performed in an informal setting.

Napkin is an allusion to the disposable nature of the information.

"I've done napkin math Dave, even if you get a $10k/year raise you still can't afford that mortgage".

Meaning: idiot, asshole, dummy, stupid fool.

Etymology - A disparaging term, derived from stugots. Popular in the Italian American neighborhood of Howard Beach, NY. Invented by Don Tony/Anthony DeBlasi of the "Don Tony and Kevin Castle Show" and "Breakfast with Blasi".

Ex: "Mmmmmmmmagnus! He's still the TNA champ. And he's feuding with Pussy Ray. But the rating are godawful. Get this Kev, they're 0.8s...Pussy Ray, look at the ratings you drew! You fucking matarraz!"
