This word is the french version of the well known lmao .
It's mostly used by guys that pretend to be french or anyone that just wants to bully the french.
Because it's spelling, the french won't know that you bully them.

French guy: "Salut comment ca va?"
Me: "Lemao"
French guy: "quoi?"
Me: "LE mao"
French guy: *runs home with tears in his eyes, while calling his mum*
