back when gay marriage (or being gay in general) was a frowned upon thing and you were consider to be "the devil faggot slutty whore" lesbian did something to go around this, is when a woman (living as a man) marries another woman, now back than there was no way to actually tell someone gender other than just by looking at them or ID and back than it was super easy to get away with things,

now the phrase female husband doesn't just mean woman to woman (although it kinda does)
