'Humping air' can have 2 meanings:

1. Noting someone else that he/she is making stuff up.

2. Confirming of admitting you got something wrong.

1. "You're telling me that you can lift up a car with one hand? You're humping air, mate."

2. "Mach 1 is 1000 km/h, right? Or am I humping air now?"

Not to be confused with Humming Buzzed which refers to sounds made by jam bands and/or their fans who are too stoned to remember the lyrics.
