Amnesia is caused by the holidays, causing people to have the same conversations just after a holiday they already had before the holiday. Most commonly, this happens between Christmas and New Years'. However, it can happen with any holiday to a lesser degree.

Tom realized Harry was suffering from holinesia when it took 45 minutes to reiterate 3 weeks' worth of conversations after the holidays.
