Boof

Boof is used as a shortened version of "big oof". Big oof, or boof for short, is used when something kind of bad or awkward has happened, and you aren't quite sure how to respond to it. In this situation, you feel as if something needs to be said, but you aren't sure what is a proper response. Boof is then the proper response. It can also be used as a partial synonym for the use of the word "mood" or "big mood".

Person: I just failed my final exams.
