If you're really straight edge, you don't need to go telling everyone about it, it's something you do for YOURSELF. 99% of the morons with X's on their hands are posers/scenesters obsessed with fashioncore.

Example: A lot of the girls on the "girls gone wild" commercials have big black X's on their hand but they're taking off their clothes for cash. How is that respecting their bodies?

poseur straight edge

One who begins to act straight edge for fashion, rather than physical or emotional health. Usually poseur straight edges can be identified by being 13-15, ages when most have no choice but to be straight edge, but few choose to flaunt it. Pen-drawn X's on the back of the hands are one of the only things that is similar between a real straight edge and a poseur straight edge. Poseur straight edges are essentially whatever clic the individual was before they found that marker, plus two black x's. These kids usually are not part of the hardcore scene in itself, but try to salvage their integrity by listening to watered-down, cookie cutter hardcore music.

Ernest: Hey! That kid looks hardcore straightedge! Oh wait! He is wearing dickies shorts and 130 dollar skater shoes and he has blonde hair! Whoops!

straight flamer

An effeminate straight male. A genuinely straight flamer isn't a gay man in denial, but rather, genderqueer and/or androgynous. He enjoys the company of gay men and women, and has probably had plenty of opportunities to be with men, but singularly desires women. He enjoys the duality and expansiveness of feeling both masculine and feminine, and likely feels like a lesbian in a man's body. Finding a woman who desires this kind of man, however, is the straight flamer's burden in life, but they do exist.

"My gaydar totally misread that guy. I would have sworn he was gay, but he's just a straight flamer." Sorry, hon.

That's so straight!

This phrase is a way to make fun of people who say 'that's so gay' by changing it to 'that's so straight'. Many gay people (or people who think its offensive) use it instead of 'That's so gay' to show that its a hurtful phrase.

Amy: I got a ton of bio homework to do tonight, we can't go on our date...
Dane: Damn, that's so gay!
Amy: That isn't gay. That's so straight! (like you lol)
Dane: *crys in corner*

straight supremacy

Promotion of the belief that straight people are superior to people of other sexual orientations and preferences. Especially a political ideology that advocates the social, moral, and political dominance of heterosexuals. Straight supremacists generally identify as religious conservatives and frequently engage in hate speech citing homosexuality as a leading cause of social problems such as the breakdown of the institution of marriage.

We look forward to the time when straight supremacy and its antiquated notions will fall into obscurity like other hate groups of the past.

That Rick Santorum is a raging straight supremacist. What a douche.

straightedge

Movement started in 1981 by D.C. Hardcore band, Minor Threat. Drawn from the two songs "Out of Step" and "Straightedge", in which in the former, they emphasize the values of "Don't drink! Don't smoke! Don't fuck!" which means no drugs, alcohol, or promiscuous sex. The movement grew in the hardcore scene as it stood at the time as a stark contrast to the drug and beer-heavy punk 'scenes' of the time. It is still kept on today, although a militaristic and violent branch of straightedge known as 'hardliner' has become more prevalent in some circles, in addition to straightedge's marriage to veganism in others. There are still many out there that believe in real straightedge though, regardless if there're 'x's on their hands or not. It has also been looked down upon by many people as another brand of conformity nowadays.
