marketing major

A business student who doesn't understand business, or that they won't make any money in marketing. Got into it because they heard it's the easiest. Will eventually switch into sales when there's no marketing jobs at graduation.

Commercials seem easy to make, so I think I'll be become a marketing major.

French Major

A dazzlingly attractive and stunningly brilliant student who can not only speak the sexiest language on Earth but also has several other noteworthy skills. These include (but are not limited to) the ability to cook upscale cuisine, identify pieces of fine art, and make jokes about literary classics that will be, in all likelihood, over your head.

French Major: Excuse me, mon cher, but could you hand me that bag of flour? I'm trying to get this bread to rise evenly enough that it doesn't resemble the snake that swallowed the elephant! Haha!

Lucky Significant Other: Of course! Will we be enjoying this with our beef bourguignon and merlot tonight?

freshman philosophy major

A person who thinks that her or his oversimplified answer will solve a controversial debate. The person is normally is in the late teens and the subject matter is usually religious, political, or ethical.
The phrase originates from the most common source of this stereotype.

"What does she look so smug about?"
"You mean Freshman Philosophy Major? After an intro philosophy class she thinks she can definitively prove that God does not exist."

Keelan Major

A college major completely self-defined by the student, to be completed in no less than ten years, and not to exceed the undergraduate level. Classes are to be completely free (paid for by university employment), and to be taken at irregular intervals. May include free overseas trips, a.k.a. "study abroad."
