A Stupid douche pretending to be a coffee expert like a Barista but acts like a minimalist to give the name a more hipster sound.

Gary: Here is your coffee ma'am.
Tina: Thank you! You are a great barista!
Gary: No ma'am. A barista is someone who works at starbucks. I don't conform to the easiest ways of making coffee. I am a Purista!

old school purist 

One who is solely interested in trends, fads, styles, etc. of things, such as cars, videogames, clothes, music, etc., from previous decades. They usually detest, or at least dont agree with, current trends, fads, styles, etc. of things, such as cars, videogames, clothes, music, etc.

An old-school videogame purist only plays Atari, NES, Super NES, Original Gameboy, Sega Genesis, or Game Gear.

Old school car purist would only drive and old muscle car with jacked-up back wheels, Cragar wheels, wide back tires, and chrome engine parts.

Sandwich purist 

A person who prefers sandwiches that contain only meat and/or cheese, and sometimes sauces, while disdaining the presence of any vegetables or fruits, whether sliced, chopped, or leafy.

A ham sandwich with cheese is fine for a sandwich purist, as long as there is no lettuce, nor a tomato slice.

purist

This slang term "purist" refers to the persons who deem that selfies must be taken by using the photo booth known as "purikura", hence the etymology of this slang. Such persons have once been raised by strict screen time limits imposed by parents, hence these persons' reluctance to use smartphone to take selfies instead.

My friends were all about using their smartphones for selfies, but I’m a total purist—I only take my pics in the purikura booth!
