Nostalgia, the longing, or yearning for old times. The sweet things that make you sentimental. A memory, a long time ago to be held, and as you long to live the moment yet again, you are nostalgic.

I understand people get nostalgic and nostalgia for other occasions, but me however, I just have to dust off the wii and I'm back in the past.

EG. "Green Day have sucked since 2004, but they know it doesn't matter, they've got you by the nostalgia sack. All they have to do is promise to play tracks off of "Dookie" and you'll continue to help them buy new Yachts while excusing their awful fucking music.

false nostalgia 

Is a diversion of the normal nostalgia, but instead of being nostalgic about your own past its about something, someone o somewhere you never were to.

False nostalgia can be experienced mostly after seeing something you know if you saw as a child, you would have remembered for the rest of your life, but as far as you know you didnt. This makes you remember your past and what you actually did, combining your actual nostalgia for your past and the thing you are watching into false nostalgia without you realising.
