A surname with Russiona/Slovanic origins which has been recorded with many spellings including Nemchin, Nemchinov (Russian), Nimchuk (Ukraine), Niemiec (Polish), Nemec (Czech), Niemetz, Nimitz, Niemsch (German), Niemiec (Jewish), Nemet and Nemeth (Hungarian).
