Meninist

This word is a pissed-off straight white boy's version of feminism. Although feminism supports the equal rights and opportunities of both sexes, a meninist thinks that men aren't getting enough attention and privelidge as is. Meninists believe that they deserve a movement for men. There is, however, already a movement for men. It's called feminism. As a feminist I believe that both genders should never fall victim to stereotypes and society's image of what everyone should be. Meninists believe that feminists should be silenced and that men should remain privelidged and still be considered superior. Although if they really believe in equality for both genders, I suggest they look into feminism and stop being whiny pissbabies.

Feminist: women are being, harassed, cat called, raped, killed, beaten, and getting rights stripped from them just because they're women.

Meninist: but what about men?

Feminist: as privileged as men are they also have issues in modern day. They are expected to live as stoic beasts incapable of human emotions or do anything not resembling masculinity.

Meninist: so feminism does include men?
Feminist: feminism includes everyone, including men, women and people of all races, sexualities, and abilities. Whereas meninism only includes straight white cis men.

Meninist (now feminist): maybe I'm a feminist after all...

(Also refuses to be a feminist when their sole 'belief' is equality.)

Meninist

Much like feminism, a complicated term, due to various uses and meanings depending on who you talk to. At its best, it refers to a male feminist, or as a speciality term for the drive for male equality under the subset of feminism. Usually refers to someone who doesn't understand the purpose and meaning of feminism, thinking it's the same as misogyny, though they usually realise their mistake.

At its worst, it refers to someone who counteracts feminism because they enjoy harassing women and/or have some crazy twisted ideas on what equality is. These dudebros will often claim they fight for men's rights, but when further pressed you'll often discover that it's for a very particular kind of man's rights- whiter than 2 percent milk and straighter than a ruler.

Good example:
"I'm a meninist because I believe that toxic masculinity and homophobia need to be stopped, but I feel they're often dismissed in talks in the media about feminism. I'm also a feminist, just with an added branch."

Usual example:
"I'm a meninist because I believe that feminism is only about the advancement of women, and I'm concerned about the prejudice that I experience as well."

Bad example:
"I'm a meninist because I believe that women are already equal to men, despite all the evidence, or I believe that they're supposed to be inferior to men. I'll claim to want men's rights, but will often be homophobic and racist as hell."

used by straight white boys who can't get laid and blame women for it. they claim that they are discriminated by feminism, but if they did a little research they'd find out it's actually a movement fighting for equal rights and even theirs. for example when you guys get told you hit like a girl or that you shouldn't wear pink, we are both discriminated. that's why we should fight hand in hand and not against each other. (and on the plus side, girls love open minded guys so think about it)
