Evelyn is very caring

People notice her walking by. They turn their heads and think, DANG, how does she look so perfect? Evelyns are beautiful and kind, and boys turn their heads for her. They fall all over themselves. She is refined and regal and refuses to flirt, but if you're lucky enough to know an Evelyn, don't ever let her go.
If you're DATING an Evelyn, you'll notice she's very firm in her opinions but will listen to others kindly. Her eyes glow and light up the world like fireworks, or stars. She has a lovely figure and is hotter than hot. My brother once dated an Evelyn. He typed this last part:
You'll never know how perfect an Evelyn is. She hides her feelings and supports her friends. She smiles perfectly and has posture like a queen.
She's really loyal, and faithful too. Insult one of her friends? She'll have their back instantly. When she opens her mouth after you've said some kind of strong opinion, you better not pursue the subject, because she'll kindly put out her opinion and argue her point really well.
Okay back to me. Evelyn's are really smart and Evelyn's are gorgeous. If you're friends with one, or dating one, don't ever let her go.

Boy One: OM Gosh, is that Evelyn?
Boy Two: Don't tell her but she is friggin' hot.
Boy One: She told me the other day that she's not going to date until she's sixteen.
Boy Two: That's a bummer. She is SO HOT.

Meaning:Elegant,Intellegent, wit, with wisdom, birth-giving is pronounced EV-a-lin, EEV-lin. It is of Norman origin. Modern use derives from a transferred use of an English surname, from the Norman female name Aveline, an elaborated form of Ava. Also a variant Anglicization of Irish Eibhilin. Also possibly from the Old German name Avila or from the Latin "avis" meaning "bird".

Of German roots, Evelyn is an English variant of Aveline. Aveline is itself related to Ava, Medieval short form of Germanic names beginning with the element "avi", of unknown meaning, possibly "desired".
It can also be considered a cognate of Eve and Lyn - then of Hebrew origin. There is a possible relation with the Gaelic 'eiblin' ('pleasant') as well.
The medieval name seems to have been used only by women, but it gave rise to a surname that was turned into a masculine given name as early as the 17th century. Evelyn is today used primarily by women, but it was common enough as a boys' name just a generation ago.
An example of it as a surname is the gardener and diarist John Evelyn. Novelist Evelyn Waugh is a famous male bearer, and Pre-Raphaelite painter Evelyn De Morgan is a female bearer.
In the 20th century, Evelyn was most popular in the 1910s and 20s. Recently it has been resurging.
