Mutual feelings to each other. Not really in a relationship at this point but with high posibility of long term. No commitments yet but shows respect to its potetial by not seeing anyone else. Sometimes even avoids interactions with others that would represent an opportunity.

Get the exclusively dating mug.A term used to define the status of a relationship. Neither of the two partners are seeing anyone else, but the title boyfriend/girlfriend puts too much pressure or seriousness to a loosely dating couple. (It is an exclusive relationship and neither are currently looking for another partner--but you would both still be considered "single")
A less tactful term could be “fuck buddies” but sex is not a prerequisite, and emotions are involved.
It's meant to be vague and confusing, because the relationship gets complicated when the lines aren't clearly defined, and the couples status is more than friends, but less than a committed relationship since emotions start to get involved.

Example:
R: So are you two seeing each other, or what?
K: Well sortta, we’re exclusively not dating.

Get the elusive mug. Also known as ENS, this relationship status is increasing in popularity. Two individuals are involved with each other, and are not dating anyone else, however there is no commitment. It is understood that every waking moment of the day does not need to be spent together, as well each party does not need to inform the other where they are or will be at any given time. The words "girlfriend" and "boyfriend" are avoided and can be uncomfortable if brought up by a separate party.
Hey man, how long has Donnie been going out with Laura?
Well I don't know if they're "going out" as such, but they've been doing the exclusive non-serious thing for a couple months now.
