a relationship based solely on texting. No phone conversations ever take place other than brief one sentence statements such as "I'm here, open the gate".

lost in textation

The awkward part of texting where the context of a conversation is lost without vocal and facial aid. What would normally be a joke or sarcastic comment comes off as an insult.

He got really mad at me so I guess he didn't get the joke. t was definitely lost in textation.

Textipation

When you have something embarrassing, saddening, hurtful, and/or compromising typed up to text someone and you just can't send it.

guy#1: I tried to break up with my girlfriend with a text and I just couldn't send the text.

guy#2: Sounds to me like you've got a bad case of textipation.

A long explanation for something that was either misunderstood or unknown put into a text message.

Girl 1: "OMG my bf totally thinks I cheated on him with Bobby at the party last night!"
Girl 2: "Send him a texplation about how Bobby wasn't even there!"

When two people are texting back and forth about an important topic of conversation. Something you should/could call the person about. It involves over 160 character texts and multiple texts.

Text 1: I think we should break up
Text 2: We are not having this textsation right now.

Other: Breaking up, dating, sex, global warming, etc.

lost in textlation

This is when a text message was sent meaning one thing, but was misinterpreted by the recipient either because they couldn't hear the intonation in the senders voice, didn't realize it was meant jokingly and/or sarcastically, or, any other misinterpretation of the text message senders true and original meaning.

"Dude, I was definitely joking when I said your Mom was at my house. I can't believe you got mad. It was just "lost in textlation."
