Shipping

A verb used to describe the action of wishing for two people to enter a relationship (whether romantic or occasionally platonic) in books, movies, tv shows or real life. Shipping can often happen involuntarily, and it is the majority of what happens on the website, Tumblr. There are some very popular ships, some unpopular, as well as often lots of controversy between ships from the same fandom.

Shopping a la cart

When someone fills their shopping cart with more items than they have money for. Then when they get to the register they keep asking for the subtotal or removing items until the price comes down to whatever money they have. These people tend to have no regard for causing the line to back up a wasting inordinate amounts of time.

Jerry: This Lady is crazy. Her bill was $500. She's already removed enough items to bring it down to $100 and she STILL doesn't have enough money.

Alex: Yeah it's gonna take forever for it to be our turn. I hate when people go shopping a la cart!

shopping hangover

When you wake up and are hit with the remembrance of last night's out of control shopping escapade.

There are a few infomercials on during the day but at night they are featured on nearly every channel. Big Business knows that as consumers, our guard is down at night, so they capitalize by only feeding us shopping options.

"Shopping hangover" applies to infomercials as well as online shopping - since after around 11 p.m. people start to feel the need to buy everything they've ever thought about...and some things they haven't.

"Dude - when I checked my e-mail this morning and had 17 congratulatory messages from eBay, I was hit with the biggest shopping hangover! What did I DO last night?"
