The Big Reset Button

On a TV show, when something happens that is significant enough that it should effect the characters and plot for several episodes (even seasons) to come but is quickly dismissed with some 'it never happened' plot device or completely forgotten by the next episode.

Wow, this is some heavy stuff. Of course, you just know they're gonna do something to press the Big Reset Button at the end so it never happened.

Hard reset

To catch up on a steady sleep routine by depriving yourself of evening-naps until a reasonable bedtime is reached, whereby one can go to sleep and awaken the next day, having made full advantage of former tiredness to get to sleep early the night of the reset.

John didn't sleep Friday night, So he trawled through Saturday, barely managing to stay conscious until 11.00pm before collapsing, and awakening with elegant fashion awakening at 9am on Sunday, thus completing a typical Hard Reset

ResNET

Slow and unreliable Residential Network, hince "ResNET" provided to students in Residence Halls.

While working, ResNET seems to be faster during the day, until about 9pm. From there until 1am, every campus student tries to get on Facebook and YouTube, dramatically slowing down the shared bandwidth.
