A fan whose opinion of a certain subject or franchise is determined and/or developed by the opinions of others, especially if presented in the form of statistics or, in a competitive environment, tiers. If prompted, a metafan would mostly, if not entirely, base their reasoning of their views on a studies or reviews made by others rather than develop their own personal bias. In addition, a hardcore metafan would often shame others for not preferring something based on said studies or reviews.
