A multi purpose firefighting tool, used for forcing entry into buildings. Similar to a pry bar or crow bar but with a pike end, a forked end and an adz (flat) end.

Grab the halligan and force that door.

that excrutiating time of the year when you are forced to spend time with your monster-in-law as well as other assorted relatives that you generally avoid the rest of the year; often accentuated by imbibing too many strong spirits to dull the senses, sometimes resulting in an exchange of ugly words that will require a cool down period, usually until the next helliday

Holligan

Holligans are individuals who spend much of their time contributing to football (soccer) blogs. However, these normally mild mannered and 'professional' persons occasionally deviate from their traditional stomping grounds to group, en-masse, and terrorise other online comment forums. The traditional act of holliganism is to take a serious debate/conversation and degrade it so much that it becomes nothing more than a series of football related puns and in doing so, ensure that the most swaffled posts (holligan slang for recommend) are the most ridiculous.

As an ex member of a minor indie band I can comprehensively state that, though the internet has created a new market for bands to opperate and circulate their music, filesharing is robbing them of the vital funds that they require to flourish!!!

at the moment they have only one album, titled, "hellogoodbye"; an EP, but they're releasing a full-legnth somewhere around may 2006...they won the dew circuit breakout on mtv2, so soon they will be popular, and teeny boppers will roam about talking crap about hellogoodbye that they know nothing about. all we can do is hope that the band doesnt change, and ignore the posers.

hellogoodbye is the best band ever. hopefully, teeny boppers wont come and ruin them and make them shit like they do to all the other good bands out there.
