This name comes from the antagonist of Budd Schulberg's novel What Makes Sammy Run? In the novel, Sammy Glick is a heartless go-getter who will stop at nothing to pursue his ambitions, regardless of the consequences to others. Thus, a "sammy glick" is a person who exemplifies these same personality traits. More common names include "glick" and "glickster".

Disgruntled employee: "Yeah, my boss is a real sammy glick. That heartless bastard doesn't care who the hell he has the step on to get his way."

Glinda or Galinda,The Good Witch of the North. First created by L.Frank.Baum in his novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz". Then created as Galinda/Glinda in Gregory Maguire's novel "Wicked", which was created into the broadway musical WICKED protrayed by Kristen Chenoweth.

glint

A street drug that is made from mixing various household chemicals together (particularly drain cleaners) and forming them into a gel-like consistency. Glint is applied to the lips, usually with one or more fingers. Users report a numbing sensation around the mouth and may experience an altered mental and physical state.
Glint appears to have originated in women's correctional facilities at some point in the 60's.
