Cultural appropriation were first used by Black Americans to negate White Americans from stealing their culture and making it fashion among themselves; especially, without giving credit where credit was due. The reason why Black Americans call White Americans out on this is because America has a nasty history with slavery, stealing the land, civil rights, and so on. Moreover, Black Americans suffered the most and were made fun of through minstrel shows and lynching. Hence the reason why Black Americans used cultural appropriation against White Americans.
Black Americans may also used this terms against other ethnicities because sometimes other ethnic groups may not be aware or ignorant to Black Americans' history.

Example 1 Cultural Misappropriation:
White Person: What are those nasty looking things in your hair?
Black Person: They are called dreadlocks.
White person: Do you wash them?
Black Person: Of course it's my hair (DumbAss).
Example 2 Cultural Appropriation:
White person: Wow, what are those in your hair? It so unique!
White person: Oh, they are called dreadlocks.
White person: Wow, I want some too!

If you believe a white man for example can not be inspired by cultures made by blacks/yellows/whatever just because his skin is white, you are a threat to the survival of culture itself, as assimilating good values of other cultures to improve yours and sharing your good values to those interested as well is vital to humanity's growth as a whole.

Jane, the Woke SJW: You can't wear a Salakot, you cis white man! That's cultural appropriation! You're endangering Filipino culture by wearing that!
Dylan, A Filipino born in the US: Yes! It is not appropriate! Salakot is for Filipinos only! *takes it from the white guy*
Sean, the white guy: WTF!
Teodoro, a Filipino from the Philippines: *grabs the salakot from Dylan and gives it back to Sean* What are you guys talking about? It's fine! Nothing's wrong with a white guy wearing our creations, as it promotes and shows the capability of Filipino weavers, idiot! Also, it's art, and art must be shared, bobo!
Dylan: *confused on what bobo means*

Get the cultural appropriationmug. When white people cash in on things invented by cultures that they normally make fun of. For example, hiring British white actors to play ancient Romans and The Mummy in the Mummy movie. They call the actual members of that race the "ghetto" Egyptians. Like not ALL Egyptians are ghetto (For example the British actors that play them). After they do that they start yelling at strangers on their TV news saying stuff like "Let me guess are they offended???" Even though they know they did it because they are white supremacists and would refuse to watch a movie with the actual race in it.
"The only reason Despacito made it on the white people radio stations is specifically and only because of Cultural Appropriation by a white guy."

Get the Cultural Appropriationmug. Dumbass people that think it’s ok to take styles or pieces from culture and call it a trend. Even though it’s usually used as another way to call white people racist, it’s actually a real problem. Some dumb bitch is going to use something when she ain’t been through the cultures struggle.
Person 1: OMG look at my cornrows, what a new fashion trend.
Person 2: Since when is a cultural style allowed to be a trend. Bitch that’s cultural appropriation.

Get the Cultural Appropriationmug. When non oppressed groups of people (primarily white folk) adopt key cultural “taboo” trademarks from POC and intentionally/unintentionally make them hip, trendy, and acceptable.
So when Taylor (who is black) put her hair in cornrows she was ghetto but now that Tina’s (who is white) hair is in cornrows, cornrows are now trendy?
