For when you have done something so shameful but can't stop telling people about it that it almost seems like you're bragging.

"Ok this may be a bit of a shame brag but last night I got so drunk I lost my wallet, phone, ipod, friends, self-respect and woke up in a bin with no shoes on."

When you, usually consciously, try to get away with bragging about yourself by couching it in a phony show of humility.

"Your inflatable inner-tube is way cooler than my 80-foot yacht. You get to be so much closer to the water and to nature. I envy you, I really do"

When you are trying to show off by namedropping what ambitious plans of yours were cancelled due to emergency precautions. Under the fake outrage you are trying to build an aura of your amazing life full of ambitious and VIP plans, Because of its speculative nature, it is a very safe way to brag. You need no proof of attendance to events that won't happen.
