Pseudo-bump

Seeing someone you know quite well in a public place but you cannot lock eyes or lips with, chat it up, hug, etc. due to restricted access placed upon them by another party who is not allowed to know of the relationship that exists.

Saw my hot 30-something guy friend in a business suit as he exited place where I was dining. I yelled "Hey!" and he secretly waved so his friend would not see him waving back at me. We didn't get to catch up, it was just a pseudo-bump.

Damn those pseudo-bumps.

Someone who you deem less than human.
Homo sapien is the scientific name for Humans and means wise man.
Pseudo means not genuine, or less than something.

A Pseudo-Sapien is then someone who isn't wise and is less than human.

pseudo-sophisticated

Sort of the Dunning–Kruger effect as applied to sophistication. A cognitive bias that individuals with somewhat limited cultural or worldly experience overestimate their own sophistication. A smug attitude as related to elegance, good taste, and sensibilities by someone who thinks they are all these things, but in fact are not. A "put on" or show of sophistication by someone who in fact lacks sophistication.

Jim, who bragged about being a collector of fine art, stated that Thomas Kinkade was his favorite artist, thus exposing that he was pseudo-sophisticated when is came to art.
