A member of a high school orchestra. They dispise Band Geeks because they always seem to steal the spotlight in Orchestra. Who allowed wind players in a string ensemble, anyway?

I have worn my Orchestra uniform to a formal dance. Does that make me an Orchestra Nerd?

Nerd Emergency

A Nerd Emergency is the sudden realization that the remaining battery of an electronic device, commonly a laptop, is critically low. When a Nerd Emergency occurs, the 'victim' nerd shouts "Nerd Emergency" causing surrounding nerds to flock to the aid of the 'victim'. A collective effort ensues to connect the electronic device to a power source before it loses power completly.

Nerd 1 (victim): NERD EMERGENCY!!! NERD EMERGENCY!!!
Nerd 2: Begins to untangle power cord
Nerd 3: Locates nearest wall outlet
Nerd 4: Connects power cord to electronic device
Nerd 1: anxiously watches and bites his nails
Nerd 2: Plugs power cord into the outlet located by nerd 3
Nerd 1: Goes back to fixing his ever-broken (but still better than windows) linux distribution

Something that all the jocks, rebels and gangstas become when highschool comes to an end and need to get a real job because throwing a football around won't get you anywhere anymore, teenage rebellion becomes a lost cause and being a gangbanger will just land you in jail. Also someone that the aformentioned will likely be working for

Jock: You mean no one cares if I can throw a 50 yard pass?
Rebel: The system isn't going anywhere?
Gangsta: Selling blow will put me in jail?
Nerd: That's right. Now one of you go get me some coffee.

Nerd: Jocky, I need that <insert some work-related thing here>

Phrase used to declare a super nerdy incident.

Phrase used after a very indepth, overly detailed explanation, definition, anticdote, or nerdy personal admission is made. Can be used to describe yourself or others. Can be a diss or a tension breaker for realizing how nerdy you just came off.

Sue: "I used to read black beauty over and over again when I was a kid, we should put that on the list of the greatest books of all time."

Jane later after recounting the incident to Amy.

Jane: Nerd Alert! Could she love the book black beauty any more?!?
Amy: Seriously.

My biochemistry teacher was a super nerd. After she went off on a tangent for about fifteen minutes about some small detail she thought was so cool and she used to study, she realized she was at her nerdiest, and could only recover with exclaiming "Nerd alert!" in her defense and move on.

dork: someone lacking poise or social grace

geek: someone with extensive trivial knowledge, esp. that of science-fiction or fantasy

wimp: someone of extremely lacking strength and stamina

wuss: someone easily intimidated or subdued by fear

jerk: someone cruel and inconsiderate of others

Lucas, with his pocket protector and obsessive study habits, is a complete nerd.

Nerd

A word originally coined by Dr Seuss (king nerd himself), meaning someone who is smart. It is now usually used to desribe someone with more knowledge about computers than the average schmuck. Note, there IS a difference between a geek and a nerd. Geek's wish they were as good as nerd's, but at the end of they day, they are just second rate try-hard Nerds
