A written language typically utilized by those in the hospitality and tourism and/or food and beverage industries. It can be very generalized or specific to a certain region.

Dreadhead Scott had been a cook in many kitchens, but the WAITROGLYPHICS that the waiters and waitresses used in this place would be difficult for a pharmacist to decipher; time to go to pharmacy school.

(My buddy Scott, was a redhead who had dreadlocks. He coined this term in the kitchen of GAFB, which is long gone, in the early 90s, in the 80001. Scott left us many years ago. RIP brother. He played one helluva bass, loved Primus, and lived life to the fullest.)

waitment

A scheduled pause time between songs, but could also apply to phone calls.

I just adjusted the waitment on my music player to 5 seconds.

During the commercial free hour on the radio, I think they adjust the waitment longer.

I wish my manager would adjust the waitment between phone calls to be longer than 5 seconds, since I'm never ready for the next call.

I've noticed that when I hang up my cell phone, there is a 5 second waitment before my next call comes through.

Waiter-Envy

When your at a restaurant and your waiter is enthusiastic & super nice and you feel extra special, only to see that he does the same thing to the people at the table next to you.

Waiter: You guys look like a fun crowd!!

You: Thank you!

(Waiter goes to the next table)

Waiter: You guys look like a fun crowd!!

You: Damn i have such Waiter-Envy he totally played me.

Waiting for women

Is the one thing you do not, under any circumstance do, on a guys night out. Should one or more of the guys at any point during the night suggest waiting around for one or more person of the opposite sex, the night ceases to be a glorious guys night out and will immediately become just another lame night out.

Just finished eating burgers and drinking beer, about to drink Whiskey and pick up random chicks, when a less manly groupmember gets a phone call from a girlfriend who is 'right around the corner'.

The group is now waiting for women.

Two hours later and her makeup is still not finished, the guys have sobered up and are flaccidly hanging on a streetcorner.
