Plumber's era

From 1988 to 1995 the NBA added 6 expansion teams depleting the talent pool of teams overall and allowing players with limited skill sets to join the league. This era was diluted talent wise and players with other professions such as plumbers, coal miners and car salesmen played in the league.

Guys like ehlo, starks and danny ainge were Jordan's best competition in the plumber's era.
