South Boogie

South Bronx. The Boogie Down Bronx as a name for the borough led to the shortened phrase the Boogie Down, or the Boogie, in reference to the Bronx. The South Boogie in particular, (or the West Boggie, etc.), became the slang names or affectionate names for those respective neighborhoods. The term is used in songs and by New Yorkers, and even a rap album collection.
Hip hop? That's not even something to discuss, even in the Bridge they know the South Boogie is where it all started, everybody knows that.
