Shippers suggest that they married since a later Link in Twilight Princess is a descendant (note that doesn't necessarily mean related to) of the hero of time who is a farm boy like Malon is a farm girl. People like it because they want to be different from the typical "knight saves princess" act but while doing so become sheep and fail to realize that Link and Malon have no romantic connection. Ever.
