parallegiance

The phenomenon of repeating patterns of activity the same time the next week or normally year. Derives from 'parallel' (eg. late October 2008 and late October 2009 are parallel) and allegiance (eg. a holiday somewhere has allegiance with a similar holiday.)

Oh sh*t! I always seem to get dumped in early March! Lets hope there is no parallegiance this year!

Paralining

A sport in which a trampoline floats towards the ground at 20,000 feet, suspended by four or more parachutes, and a skydiver jumps up and down on the trampoline without his parachute deployed. When the trampoline gets low enough, the skydiver jumps off and deploys his parachute for a safe landing.

Parachuting + Trampolining = Paralining

Papulus

Etymology: Derived from St. Papulus; a priest martyred during the persecutions of Diocletian.

In Peckham and Brixton, (rough areas of London), - 'Papulus' is an affirmative adjective that plays on the onomatopoeia of a gunshot: - "Pap pap."

"I'm not fabulous man... *I'm papulus...*"

'Pap' prefix may be accompanied by hand motions imitating a pistol.

The musical equivalent of a paraphrase. Although usually used for parody purposes, paralyrics can also be used to illustrate a point or to re-create a love song for that special someone. Pronounced pa-ra-le-rik.
