Lifer Sweater

A garment more utilitarian than fashionable, the Lifer Sweater is a sweater that long-term employees keep on the back of their chairs so that they can adapt to the office thermostat. This sweater, often in a neutral color, doesn't leave the office. Evern. Once an employee brings such a garment to work, it is safe to assume that the owner isn't planning on going anywhere.

Literary Therapy

Purposefully reading books in order to escape from your own problems, either by reading biographies about people who have had harder lives than you, or fiction to give you hope that there is something better, somewhere.

Man, I've had such a bad day, I can't believe I only got an 80% on that last exam - I'm heading to Chapters for some literary therapy. I'm sure someone in the Gaza strip has a harder life than I do.
