Gamer

Somebody who enjoys regularly playing video games.

Any other stereotypical definition is useless: I play online games a lot. I am over 40, have a girlfriend, am in good physical shape and I hold down a fairly high-pressure job. I am college educated.
Some of the younger gamers that I meet online fit the nerdy stereotype but no more than the average cross-section of high-school students. There is a higher than average number of creative professionals in the game servers I go to (probably because I go to the Mac servers).
I also have LAN parties at my house - my friends come round, we drink a few beers, get a take-away, link our computers together and fight to the death. The other three are married and two have kids. Three of us have college degrees and we are all fairly high earners.
Your stereotype is way off.

My friends and I are serious gamers: we often meet to play Ghost Recon.

Gamer girl

The best girl for any guy, even the one's who aren't big gamers. She's not high maintenance, she's happy just sittin at home with you teamin up and playin some Call of Duty together. The best part is that she won't get mad at you for playing games too long. She will actually listen to what you say and will actually be interested in it, especially when you're talking about the first time you got a nuke because she appreciates a good story. She isn't shallow and won't play you because she's had it done to her a million times before cause other guys don't like how non-girly she is. This doesn't mean she's ugly though. All girls can look pretty when they try, so don't pre judge a girl who enjoys a good game of cod.

Hey ya wanna go to the movies tonight with me and my girl?

Nah, the girl and i are just gonna stay home and play some Call of Duty together.

Gamer

Primarily used as a term for a person who plays video games. Various levels of gamer exist, though this term is usually used for two groups:

1) People who have a life that is based around gaming to a point where they have no outside life. Usually obsessed with MMORPG games like World of Warcraft.

2) People who have a hobby of playing video games and take enough time to be good at them, but do not let them absorb their lives. Contrary to popular belief, these people are functioning human beings. They have jobs, friends, and enjoy some other parts of life.

1) "Dude, I haven't seen Dave in a few days. You know where he has been?"

"I think he said something about trying to get a few mages to 80 or something. I don't know, I never talk to him. He is such a gamer"

2) "Hey dude, wanna play some Left 4 Dead later?"

"Sure, why not. Have to go out with my girlfriend tonight, but after I should be free."

Gamer's Syndrome

A brain-lapse disorder that can develop after extreme exposure to one or more videogames, in which the victim involuntarily recalls a game instance.

Jeremy: Man, during our family road trip the other day I couldn't help but notice what a great level the city of Chicago would make for Tony Hawk's Underground.

July: Sounds like Gamer's Syndrome to me...

Percy: I failed my test the other day because I came across a long word and couldn't help but play a game of Jumble with it. I think I have Gamer's Syndrome...

Online Gamer

Human, commonly male, that creams their pants upon hearing a female at the other end of the mic. ALso has a fond attraction to the word "Faggot" or "fag"

Online gamers always say faggot and or chat with females in all gaming lobbies.

Female Gamer

A very rare phenomenon in which the woman begins puberty in a manner where she thinks for herself and realizes that video games are, in fact, very enteraining. Female gamers generally do not follow the social norm of how to dress, what make-up to wear, how to style their hair, so on and so forth.

My girlfriend is a Female Gamer, as is my mother (oddly enough) and a handful of chick-chicks (not guys playing as chicks) that I know.
