Something a bully calls themself.

Nobody really thought there was any roughness to the girl that called herself a diamond in the rough but herself, everybody else just thought she was a bully who was silly more often than not.

Turning into what you made fun of yesterday.

The bubbly girl went the Joan Rivers route and started to practice the double standards she always preached against before, and she got harder and harder to respect as she got older (not that anybody respected her much before).

Becoming everything you made fun of yesterday. A life where smiling was once an easy thing to do, but becomes more and more difficult as cynicism grows as the end gets closer and closer.

The bubbly girl took the Joan Rivers route through life, and the more she started to practice every double standard she preached against or tried to make fun of when she was younger, the harder and harder it got to respect her the older she got (Not that anybody had ever had much true respect for her, if any).
