When you are in a mood. But a certain type of mood. Not sad or happy. Not angry or settled. Just a mood that's name is on the tip of your tongue but you are unable to name it.

The practice, exercised almost exclusively by well-known, white, straight, cis men, of taking a creation (their own, a collaborative work, or another's) and attempting to improve upon it in a way that diminishes the quality of the work.

Named after Steven Moffat, who took over as the main writer of Doctor Who after Russel T. Davies left. Moffat's attempts to make each season he worked on more special and complex than the last ended up making the most recent season (season 10) into an overcomplicated, confusing mess, with plot threads left hanging and an unsatisfying conclusion.

The new writer on that show is totally moffating it. I have no idea what's going on anymore.
