The average quantity of carbon footprint globally is roughly around 4 tons, whereas the average in the United States is 16 tons which is 4 times the global average. The United States contributes to the 2nd most carbon footprint emissions globally following China which releases the most.

Carbonwashing

Carbonwashing is similar to Greenwashing. Carbonwashing is the practice of virtue signaling by companies or individuals to proclaim that they are purchasing "carbon credits" or similar type carbon producing offsets as a means to polish their corporate image. While, in the background they may or may not be doing this as it is a very shadowy audit process to actually prove that you are indeed having any impact whatsoever further to whatever metrics you are using to illustrate.

I just came from a conference and they were speaking of "carbon offsets" and "carbon capture" credits for their business. I'm not sure that these companies are actually measuring this properly or even partaking in sames. I think many of them are just Carbonwashing us.
