A structure in the game Minecraft that allows players to travel between the Overworld and the Nether, a dangerous and fiery dimension filled with hostile mobs and valuable resources. Typically built using obsidian, The portal’s frame can be anywhere from 4x5 to 23x23 obsidian blocks in size and activated with flint and steel, a Nether Portal has a purple, otherworldly glow. It’s both a means of exploring new areas and a perilous gateway where players may find themselves unexpectedly surrounded by lava, mobs, or other threats.

The term for the phenomenon where therapy—particularly mental and psychological interventions—has more negative than positive effects on an individual. Example: "She'd been coerced into therapy after speaking out about workplace abuse. The therapist focused not on the abuse but on her 'reaction' to it, suggesting her anger was the problem, not the injustice. Months of this left her doubting herself, blaming herself, more broken than before. The Notherapy Effect had done its work: therapy had harmed more than helped, and she was left to pick up the pieces alone."
