kindea

An idea that is not yet fully formed. Shortened version of "kind of an idea". Kindeas are frequently preceded by phrases such as, "Wouldn't it be cool if..." or "You know what I was thinking..." Kindeas generally result in a butt-load of extra work for the people they're presented to.
We were making great progress on the project, and then our Vice-President chimed in with a bunch of kindeas and made the whole thing way more complicated than it needed to be.

kendernip

Yes. There was an item in AD&D (circa 1990s) called kendernip.

Basically, it was an object that every time you moved it, even slightly, it would change shape and color. Demonstrated it was about the size of a 20 sided die. Give it to a kender and it could keep them occupied for a while.

Kender are from the AD&D realm called Dragonlance.
Wow. That kendernip sure kept Tasslehoof busy...well for a few minutes anyway.
